The Story
Why The Shoe Mobile Matters
Many people we serve haven't had a new pair of shoes in years, so they often request the last size they remember wearing, not the size they actually need today. When shoes don't fit, we've missed the opportunity to serve that individual in the moment. Others may have unmet foot-care needs, including overgrown toenails, that cause discomfort or make it difficult to comfortably wear properly fitted shoes.
The Shoe Mobile allows us to address both needs in real time. By bringing shoes and basic foot care directly into the community, we can measure each person's feet, address basic foot-care needs when appropriate, and help them select and receive a properly fitting pair of new shoes on-site.
The result is simple: better-fitting shoes, healthier feet, and the ability to serve more people with greater care, dignity, and efficiency. Because when we meet people where they are, we make it easier for them to move forward.

Every dollar moves us closer to launch day. No amount is too small — even $10 puts shoes in someone's hands.
The ShoeMobile is a fully branded, mobile shoe distribution vehicle that will drive directly into Chicago's most under-resourced neighborhoods. It will carry a rotating inventory of new and gently used shoes in all sizes — for adults and children — and distribute them free of charge at scheduled community stops.
Campaign funds cover: vehicle purchase and customization, ShoeHeals branding and outfitting, initial shoe inventory, fuel and operational costs for the first year of routes, and insurance. We publish a full breakdown of fund usage in our annual impact report. No administrative overhead is taken from campaign donations.
Our target launch is 2027. Once we hit our $50,000 goal, vehicle acquisition and outfitting takes approximately 8–12 weeks. We'll announce the first route publicly on social media and through our newsletter — subscribe here to be the first to know.
Our initial routes will focus on the South Side, West Side, Englewood, Lawndale, Pilsen, and other under-resourced Chicago neighborhoods identified through our existing partner network. We plan to run 15+ community stops in the first year of operations, with routes expanding as we grow.
Yes. ShoeHeals is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. You will receive an automated tax receipt via email immediately after your donation is processed through Zeffy.
All funds raised go toward the ShoeMobile project regardless of whether we hit the $50,000 goal. If the full amount isn't reached by our target date, funds will be held and applied to a revised timeline. Donors will be notified of any changes and given the option to redirect their contribution to our general shoe fund if preferred.
